This week’s Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show guest is Keith Gow, creator of The Tommy Westphall Multiverse.
The Tommy Westphall Multiverse is a chart that connects over 250 TV shows into a single continuity. So, for instance:
- In an episode of I Love Lucy spin-off Here’s Lucy, Lucy was held hostage in a bank with Detective Mannix from Mannix.
- Mannix also appeared on an episode of Diagnosis Murder to solve a cold case with Dr. Mark Sloan.
- There was another episode of Diagnosis Murder that centered around Oceanic Airlines which is, of course, from Lost.
Thus, one could conclude that I Love Lucy takes place in the same universe as Lost (and Diagnosis Murder, and virtually every other show of the past 50 years).
Listen to the episode and learn about how the chart was researched, how long it took to put together, and how the Power Rangers meeting the Ninja Turtles ripped a hole in spacetime.
The Jeff Rubin Jeff Rubin Show comes out every Tuesday and is available iTunes, YouTube, and JeffRubinJeffRubinShow.com.
Next week - Episode 50, the one year anniversary show! Pat Cassels, Sarah Schneider, Josh Ruben, and Dan Meth all stop by for something special.
